Glue up completed ✅ I don’t know about y’all, but I find glue up to be the most stressful and the “I would rather not do” it aspect of woodworking. But, I’m not crafting Swedish blue big-box knock down furniture. I’m crafting solid wood furniture. Yellow aliphatic glue is wonderful stuff, stronger then the wood itself, but you just don’t have much time to glue up a complicated piece of furniture using yellow glue. Enter epoxy. I never would have considered using epoxy in fine furniture construction previously. But, our instructors @woodschoolmaine introduced us to formulations compatible with wood joinery. The epoxy I used had an open time of about an hour. Added benefit- lubrication. Joinery just glides together! Apologies for the long winded post, but this truly has been an eye opening ????learning experience for me. I believe my glue up anxiety days are over!
